Beauty look face chart and experiments

I have combined the splattered smokey eye and the silver metallic eye from my previous post:

It took several trial and error experimentations. First I attempted to mix a green powder eye shadow with some mixing medium but the eye shadow wasn't pigmented enough. So i then went on to use Aqua colour, i thought this would be perfect as it is wet so I can splatter it on the face, but then it will dry!
(Here i have put the silver liquid metal (phenomenon) on the lid)

I am so pleased with the effect however I'm not happy with the green colour. I then went on to mix a more earthy, dirty green:

I am so much happier with this colour, to me it is much more "murky". I then went on to add the purple lip. I don't want the lip to be defined, i want it to still carry on with the "murky" theme so it is not quite even and looks more like a stain. I added the silver liquid metal onto the cupid's bow to add the subtle glisten and contradict the undefined murky coloured lips.

I am incredibly happy with this, I think it ties in with my words perfectly, murky, glistening, green and purple! I just have to decide what to do with the hair.

Bindi's

Even though this has no necessary relation to what I have been looking at, i've been really loving the grunge revival of bindi's! I think indian jewellery and patterns are absolutely glorious! If there has to be one culture that does glistening well it is the Indian culture!! I thought I would have a little play around with my chosen colours and some beautiful bindi's:

Patterns

I'm still very drawn to patterns such as henna patterns, and indian patterns:

smokey and splattered

I found an image of a very interesting twist on the smokey eye:

it reminds me of another image that I found:

I want to experiment with this splatter technique, instead of black use green. I think it will create the sense of nature having its way and taking its course. Paired with the silver eye from my previous post it will have the perfect balance of murky and glisten.

Abandoned and beautiful

I find abandoned and derelict places fascinating. Whilst I began this project with images of swamps on my mind and glistening waters, i've been really inspired by skeletal buildings that have been wrapped in ivy and totally consumed by nature. I think it is incredibly beautiful how unpredictable and unruly it can be.

Shiny, Shiny

I stumbled across a couple of images that have a beautiful balance of shine/glisten and murkiness.

I love how the light is darker in some areas and the light is really reflected but the silver, it creates a beautiful texture and contrast.

Chosen Words

I have chosen the words Glistening and Murky and I have chosen the colours Green and Purple as my starting point for this Illamasqua Project. Glistening and murky are contradictory which I think will be very interesting as they represent both sides of Ying and Yang.
I've gathered a few images and put them together on a tumblr blog: www.mfs118aprillross.tumblr.com

These images are particularly inspiring:

I begin my search by simply searching the words "Murky" and "Glistening" in Tumblr, Google and Pinterest.
