Evaluation

Overall I am very happy with my final images.
I do wish that the liquid metal would have stood out more on camera for the beauty look but otherwise I am very pleased. I have also noticed in a few images that there are some stray hairs so in the future i must remember to really keep a close eye on the hair and make it perfect for the camera before shooting.
I think that considering I only started with the words and colours Murky, Glistening, purple and green I managed to stick to the brief but have some strong ideas and themes running throughout. I love the idea of a statue of a beautiful goddess that has been forgotten and taken over by nature.
This has been a very enjoyable project and I could have easily gone on and on with my ideas!!

Fantasy final images!

I am so so pleased with this look. There is nothing I would change at all, I could easily keep adding more and more details to it but think it is just right as it is =D

Beauty final images!

Here are a few of my final images for the beauty look. I am very happy with it, just a little disappointed that the silver liquid metal hasn't shown up as well as i'd hoped.

goddess image ideas

So I have attemped to create a pattern on the forehead that is similar to the goddess image that i've found:

I attempted to make a stencil because i want the pattern to be perfect

!!!!!COMPLETE ABSOLUTE TOTAL FAILURE!!!!

I attempted it free hand:

I was quite happy with this but wished it could be more even, the centre of the design is easy however the swirls prove to be really difficult and i'm not totally sure I like it. I did this using my purple supra colour. I wanted to add some powder and shading over the top:

unfortunately the pattern sort of went "gunky" and smudgy and got totally ruined!! So I removed this total mess. I reapplied the eyeshadow and I went over the top with the purple this time.

I do like it but still think that something isn't quite right. I removed this and tried a different technique and product. This time I used masking tape to try and get an even pattern:

I am very very happy with the centre of the design but am still struggling to get the swirls equal on either side. I continued to add the colour and then some highlights with the silver Illamasqua liquid metal:

I love it! However, i still feel like it's too obvious. I want the words murky and glistening to still apply and i think that this pattern is perhaps too strong, maybe it will look better without black. It could look more like a tattoo or henna.

developed and final idea for fantasy look

I have settled on the final idea for my fantasy look:

I have decided to stick with my two chosen colours, just using a couple of different shades of each. The pattern at the top will resemble more of a tattoo and not be as obvious as my original design. I want it to look faded like how the patterns and grooves on statues would fade over time. The grey marks on the face represent gems, this is evocative of goddesses, especially indian goddesses, it also ties in with my Glistening theme. I have included eyeliner to give the whole look quite an oriental look. The green represents the moss that would grow on a statue.

For the hair I am going to dread look it and wrap the dreadlocks around a bun:

I'm very excited about my final outcomes!!

Goddess image!

I have found the most incredible and inspirational image:

It has given me so many ideas. From this I am beginning to get an idea of a misty, forgotten temple with statues that have grown moss and other such natural things!

Dreadlocks

I absolutely love dreadlocks. I think I want both my looks to have dreadlocks because they are the most natural "hairstyle". Dreadlocks happen when hair is left to it's own devices. When buildings are abandoned nature will do it's own thing and take over, dreadlocks can be created without doing anything, they don't require much maintenance, hardly any in fact; the do their own thing!

They also remind me of tribes and goddesses. I think they would be perfect to include in my looks.

Beauty look face chart and experiments

I have combined the splattered smokey eye and the silver metallic eye from my previous post:

It took several trial and error experimentations. First I attempted to mix a green powder eye shadow with some mixing medium but the eye shadow wasn't pigmented enough. So i then went on to use Aqua colour, i thought this would be perfect as it is wet so I can splatter it on the face, but then it will dry!
(Here i have put the silver liquid metal (phenomenon) on the lid)

I am so pleased with the effect however I'm not happy with the green colour. I then went on to mix a more earthy, dirty green:

I am so much happier with this colour, to me it is much more "murky". I then went on to add the purple lip. I don't want the lip to be defined, i want it to still carry on with the "murky" theme so it is not quite even and looks more like a stain. I added the silver liquid metal onto the cupid's bow to add the subtle glisten and contradict the undefined murky coloured lips.

I am incredibly happy with this, I think it ties in with my words perfectly, murky, glistening, green and purple! I just have to decide what to do with the hair.
